Invite members

To invite someone to Dropbox Business:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com using your admin credentials.
  2. Click Admin Console.
  3. On the Members page, click Invite members.
  4. Enter the email addresses of people you want to invite, and click Invite to team.

Don't worry if someone already has a Dropbox account that they use for work. People you invite can convert an existing Dropbox Basic or Pro account to a Dropbox Business account, or they can choose to create a new account.

Install the desktop app

Installing the desktop app will add a small Dropbox icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen. If you already have this icon, Dropbox is installed. If you don't, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Dropbox download page.
  2. That webpage will start downloading a file. Open the file and run it to start the installer.
  3. Follow the instructions to either create an account or log in to your account.
  • Your admin may have already installed the desktop app on your device. To check you can ask your team admin, or search for the desktop app in your available apps.

Add your files

You'll want to upload your business files to Dropbox. The desktop app is the best way to upload those files.

To add files to Dropbox using the desktop app:

  1. Click the Dropbox icon in the right-hand corner of your screen.
  2. Open your Dropbox folder.
  3. Drag files or whole folders into your Dropbox folder and they'll automatically sync.

Collaborate in folders

People with edit access to folders in your Dropbox can edit, add, and delete files in the folder.

To share a folder with edit access:

  1. Sign in to dropbox.com.
  2. Hover your cursor over the folder you'd like to share, and click the blue Share button that appears.
  3. Enter the email addresses of anyone you want to invite and choose Can edit.

    • Choose Can view, if people only need to view but not edit files.
  4. Enter a message about the folder and click Share.
