Archive or restore a Dropbox Paper doc

Archive a doc that you created and own

To archive a doc:

  1. Click the icon in top right corner of the doc you’re viewing.
  2. Click Archive.

Archiving a doc that you don't own

If you would like to remove a doc from your Recent Docs list, hover over the doc name and click the X that appears. Since you aren't the owner, you will be alerted that removing the doc will only remove it from your list of docs. If you're actually the owner of the doc, you'll be alerted that the doc will be archived for everyone.

If you want to rejoin the doc after you have removed the doc from your list, you can do so either via invitation, search, or by clicking a shared link to the doc.

Restoring or unarchiving a doc

To recover a doc you archived:

  1. Click the menu icon in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Click Docs.
  3. Click Archived.
  4. Click the doc you'd like to restore.
  5. Click the Restore button that appears.

Permanently deleting a doc

If permanent deletion is enabled by the admin of a Dropbox Business team, owners of a doc can permanently delete docs that have been archived. To permanently delete a doc:

  1. Click the menu icon in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Click Docs.
  3. Click Archived.
  4. Click the doc you'd like to delete.
  5. Click permanently delete.
  6. Click Permanently Delete.
